Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport Goes Public

Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport
We first told you about the outrageous Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport back in early July, when it set a world land-speed record for production cars of 268 mph. Now, this 1,183-horsepower wallflower has come out of the closet, making its first public appearances at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion and the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
The Veyron 16.4 Super Sport appears to be the last of the breed — what Bugatti describes as "the climax of the Veyron series" that was launched in 2005. In the ensuing five years, Volkswagen's most exclusive brand has sold 260 Veyrons and 35 Grand Sports, all at seven-figure stickers.
The Super Sport, which goes into extremely limited production this fall at Molsheim, is distinguished from its siblings by its more powerful quad-turbo 8.0-liter W16 engine, which makes 1,106 pound-feet of torque, as well as its visual cues, which include a pair of NACA cooling ducts on the roof, a double diffuser in the rear and larger front air intakes.
